Chinquapin Oak

The chinquapin oak is a beautiful tree with leaves that give it a dark, glossy look over time.

This oak is adaptable to a wide range of soils. It prefers well drained soils as the tree matures, exfoliating bark adds character. It does well is sun or partial shade.

It’s also commonly called chinkapin oak, chestnut oak, yellow chestnut oak, rock chestnut oak, rock oak, and yellow oak.
